SKIN AND FEATHERS

Exhibition by Olga Yocheva 15 November – 13 December 2024Vernissage | 15 November 2024 | 20:00Finissage | 13 December 2024 | 20:00Full Moon GalleryAdmission free! Olga Yocheva’s art is a celebration of simplicity, exploring two distinct yet interconnected themes: women and crows. In her first series, Olga portrays women as abstracted, nude figures, deliberately omitting facial features to emphasize their universal nature. These figures are not tied to any one identity but stand as symbols of collective femininity, strength, and resilience, representing the power and beauty inherent in all women. In contrast, her series on crows delves into the intelligence and complexity of these fascinating birds. Captivated by their ability to remember and pass on knowledge across generations, Olga reflects on themes of memory, continuity, and wisdom. The intricate social networks of crows mirror human connections, making them a poignant symbol of the deeper currents of life.By placing these two subjects side by side, Skin and Feathers encourages contemplation on the interconnectedness of knowledge, identity, and life’s patterns, offering viewers a unique perspective on strength and remembrance through both human and animal lenses. Olga Yocheva works across multiple mediums, including painting, graphic design, performance, and video art. She studied Art and Education at Sofia University Kliment Ohridski in Bulgaria and Digital Video Production at SAE Institute in Leipzig, Germany. Having organized several solo exhibitions and participated in numerous international art projects, Olga has firmly established herself as a noteworthy presence in the contemporary art scene. She currently lives and works in Dresden, Germany.

Exhibition by Stefan Nestler 18 October – 13 November 2024Opening | 18 October 2024 | 20:00Finissage | 13 November 2024 | 8:00 p.m.Full Moon GalleryFree admission! Stefan Nestler, born 1962 in Freiberg, combines in his works a variety of influences from constructivist and concrete art movements. His work is characterised by a pronounced sense of pictorial order, in which chaotic, amorphous elements of reality are transformed into structured, rhythmic compositions. This ‘lawfulness of the series’, as it can be found in his works, transforms the original purpose of things and elevates them to a higher pictorial context. What appears fleeting and transient in the world is permanently fixed in Nestler’s work through structure, measure and proportion. After studying photography at the Academy of Visual Arts Leipzig from 1988 to 1992 under Prof. Arno Fischer, he received the Sächsische Zeitung Art Prize in 1992. A year later, in 1993, a scholarship from the Stiftung Kulturfonds Berlin (Berlin Cultural Foundation) enabled him to travel to Southeast Asia as part of the ‘CITYWALKS’ project, which had a lasting impact on his work. Since 1998, Nestler has regularly taken part in art-in-architecture competitions, and in 2001 another work scholarship took him to Cleveland, Ohio. His works are represented in numerous collections and have been shown in exhibitions in Germany and abroad since 1983. Using a clear, organising visual language, he explores the profound themes of time, transience and form in various media – from photography to art in public spaces. Performance ‘Sitz und Leib der Gedanken’ – An Embodiment in 2 Episodes Vernissage | Prelude and 1st episode: The Taking> Performers: a musing one (Ingolf Hoppmann) & a voice and a shadow (Emma Reinbold) Finissage | 2nd episode and finale: The Dismay> Performers: a dis-musing one (Ingolf Hoppmann) & an embodiment (Emma Reinbold)

Exhibition by Yevgeny Feldmann 15 September – 16 October 2024Vernissage | 15 September 2024 | 19:30Full Moon GalleryAdmission free! Art is a wound that illuminates everything…The paintings tell stories of people who are not directly depicted. From 1989 she was a member of the Osterzgebirgischer Kunstverein with Johannes Zepnick, a freelance painter and graphic artist, in Dippoldiswalde. She had personal exhibitions in Dippoldiswalde in 1991 and 1992. From 1994 to 1995, she completed an internship in the make-up department at the Semperoper in Dresden as part of her studies. Between 1995 and 1999, she studied make-up art at the Dresden University of Fine Arts and successfully completed her studies. In 1999 she married the dancer Hannes-Detlef Vogel and in the same year their son Paul Luis was born. Her second son Hans Alfons was born in 2001. She worked as a freelance make-up artist until 2014, since when she has been a permanent make-up artist at the Semperoper Dresden. “Dance, with its lightness and dynamism, strength and beauty, has inspired me since I was a child. For me, dance is the completion of musical feeling and can express everything. It leaves room for imagination, poetry, feeling and your own thoughts. My first close encounter with dance began in 1994 during an internship at the Semperoper, where I took every opportunity to draw the dancers in the ballet hall in my free time. On the one hand, this resulted in an artistic-cooperative work with some dancers (TANZZEITLOSE) and, on the other hand, the first dance oil paintings. After a break, I started painting again in 2019, mostly inspired by the music and choreographies danced by the Semperoper Ballett. In my paintings, I try to express my feelings and my view of the diversity in dance, the apparent lightness, the endless flow of movement, the dynamism, energy and beauty. Colour plays a major role in this for me. Dealing with it gives me inner liberation, joy and energy.”

They are not the object of our attention unless we protect ourselves from their thorns or prick ourselves through carelessness. It is important for us to cross the space defined by heaven and earth and that which remains behind us and that which lies ahead of us in order to reach an illusory “goal” there. PINK MOON

23 May – 21 June 2024Vernissage | 23 May 2024 | 20:00Performance | 21:34Full Moon GalleryFree Entry! Antje Dudek is an art mediator and works as a lecturer for art practice and art didactic at the Technical University Dresden. Her artistic portfolio extends from graphism/painting to performance. Antje Dudek presents herself in her exhibition with paintings on canvas and paper, glowing in the moonlight. As part of her exhibition, Antje Dudek presents paintings on canvas and paper cast in moonlight. How can you describe “Pink Moon”? Luminous companion, night watchman, reflection. Glowing, cold, elusive, in the rhythm of shifting visibility. Some artworks depict the play of night creatures wandering in a full moon night or human shapes merging with mystical creatures. The paintings’ protagonists are floating on layers of colours or untangled in usual vegetation. They hide themselves behind abstract colour layers or wrap themselves in protective cocoons. The full moon explicitly appears as a motif and formal element of her work. Others only let the nocturnal be perceived through tones of blue. Once the night spreads over us, what appears? Each art piece questions this in one way or another. Does insomnia haunt us with its wild trains of thought and bizarre distortions of what is familiar to us? Or do we seek shelter in a refuge where we can reconsider things from a fresh perspective, reorganise them and gather strength? www.antjedudek.de Performance Pink Moon from Antje Dudek and Lisa-Marie Porst „Pink Moon“ is a duo performance illustrating in the thematic dialogue the exhibition with poetic, surreal pictures when the sun sinks and leaves the stage to the full moon. Lisa-Marie Porst studiert Kunstpädagogik und Deutsch auf Lehramt an der TU Dresden. Ihre künstlerische Auseinandersetzung bewegt sich im Spannungsfeld von Installation, Fotografie und Performance. Instagram: lisamarieporst Music: Edflix & Chill Edflix & Chill are the isolated and resounding echo of Dub Willner. It’s all about loops in the line fader and to the aux and back. WELTUNTER

24 April – 22 May 2024 Vernissage | 24 April 2024 | 20:00Full Moon GalleryAdmission free! In the exhibition WELTUNTER, painter and graphic artist Danny Hermann will be presenting his multifaceted works at the Full Moon Gallery from 24 April to 22 May. The Dresden-based artist paints in oil and works graphically with ink or the letterpress method of woodcut. In his artistic work, Danny Hermann navigates through the turbulence of a modern era in transition. He is particularly interested in the duality of artificial intelligence, the ambivalence of social media and acute environmental problems – all topics that are on our doorstep and ready to invade our space. In his works, the artist draws on a deep aesthetic that not only enriches his visual language but also characterises his approach to content. Danny Hermann finds inspiration in the emotionally charged works of Edward Munch, Marianne von Werefkin and Wolfgang Petrick as well as in the influences of his former professor Ralf Kerbach. His figurative elements open a window into a world in which emotion and reflection speak their own language. Danny Hermann completed his art studies at the Dresden University of Fine Arts (HfbK) in 2016 and was subsequently a master student of Prof Ralf Kerbach (HfbK) until 2019. He has been a member of Künstlerbund Dresden e.V. since 2016 and has taken part in international exhibitions in Florence, Rome, Milan, Berlin, Dresden and New York, among others. “With my artworks, I want to open up a space for dialogue in which viewers are invited to enter into an inner exchange, reflect on their own thoughts and feelings and develop a deeper understanding of the pressing issues of our time.” More about Danny Hermman: Interview www.dannyhermann.deInstagram @dannyhermann Laudatio:David Baensch Musical accompaniment:Vanessa Brix The lead singer and guitarist of the band “Ophelia” solo with her own songs, melodic, melancholic love stories and feminist lyrics from the grunge/alternative genre.
