“Integration of a Wolf” shows a series of self-portraits, by Narek Arzumanyan.
In an asylum home in Germany, the artist watches many nature documentaries and recognises parallels between himself and lone predators. Even as a child, Arzumanyan loved to be in nature; for him, there was hardly any difference between humans and animals. He often played as a jackal, fox or wolf. These animals accompany him not only into his adulthood, but also into his art. Arzumanyan feels so much connected to the lone wolf in particular that he sees and portrays himself as one. But he cannot remain a wolf forever and slowly transforms into a human being.
From 29 September to 27 October 2023, you can view this fascinating journey at the Full Moon Gallery in Dresden.
