Head Metaphysics
VERNISSAGE: 2 APR 2026 | 8:00 PM Exhibition by Leo Bacharach Leo Bacharach, born in 1983 in Ukraine and now living in Dresden, presents his new photographic series “Head Metaphysics” at the Full Moon Gallery. The works explore the human condition across all stages of life, from preexistence to solitude, in the form of sculptural heads made from synthetic, fragile materials. Printed on vinyl and presented as large-scale outdoor banners, the works invite viewers to reflect on metaphors of identity, transformation, and impermanence. The journey begins in the astral plane: polyethylene skulls float in water under the open sky, symbolizing souls in preexistence. From there, life unfolds through increasingly corporeal, yet uncanny forms — a newborn made of hoses and tiles, a spectral paper golem, a lively adolescent in disco reflections, and a cracked academic effigy. Adulthood appears pierced and burdened. Then comes fracture: the “Broken” head reveals vulnerability, while death manifests as a charcoal relic. The final head, barely visible and transparent, turns gently toward a point of light: solitude. Each sculpture is hand-crafted, faceless, and devoid of sensory features — deliberately stripped of humanity, yet rich in symbolic meaning. “Head Metaphysics” is a meditation on the shape of being, its stages and ruptures — an invitation to encounter our inner archetypes in silence and scale. From April 2 to April 30, 2026, the Full Moon Gallery invites visitors to explore the photographic series “Head Metaphysics”, pause, and immerse themselves in the symbolic heads and their visual language. The works guide viewers through the phases of life, offering new perspectives and encouraging reflection on one’s own perceptions.
