Hana Hazem Arabi ist ein syrischer multidisziplin\u00e4rer K\u00fcnstler mit Sitz in Deutschland. Seine k\u00fcnstlerische Praxis umfasst Malerei, Installation, Performance und Videokunst und besch\u00e4ftigt sich mit Themen wie Identit\u00e4t, Vertreibung, Freiheit, dem K\u00f6rper und dem Verh\u00e4ltnis zwischen Individuum und Gesellschaft.<\/div>
2019 begann Arabi sein Studium an der Hochschule f\u00fcr Grafik und Buchkunst Leipzig (HGB), wo er seine k\u00fcnstlerische Praxis medien\u00fcbergreifend weiterentwickelte. W\u00e4hrend seines Studiums war er an zahlreichen Ausstellungen und k\u00fcnstlerischen Projekten in Deutschland und international beteiligt, darunter \u201eVerletzbare Subjekte\u201c im Zentrum f\u00fcr Aktuelle Kunst in der Zitadelle Berlin. Im Februar 2026 schloss er sein Studium an der HGB Leipzig ab. Seine Arbeiten wurden unter anderem in Leipzig, Dresden, Berlin und Wien pr\u00e4sentiert.<\/div><\/div>\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t

NO DIRECTION ist eine Serie abstrakter Malereien mit subtilen surrealen Elementen, die sich mit dem Zustand der Orientierungslosigkeit auseinandersetzt \u2013 geografisch, psychologisch und existenziell.<\/div>
\u00dcber Jahrhunderte hinweg orientierten sich Menschen am Sonnenstand, an Sternbildern oder am Wind. Heute ist die Richtung jederzeit verf\u00fcgbar \u2013 digital berechnet, pr\u00e4zise markiert und scheinbar eindeutig. Ein kurzer Blick auf das Smartphone gen\u00fcgt, und der Weg erscheint.<\/div>
Doch was geschieht, wenn dieses System nicht mehr greift? Wenn kein Signal vorhanden ist, wenn der Himmel dunkel bleibt und die einzige Anweisung eine vage Geste ins Ungewisse ist?<\/div>\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t

Die Werkserie entstand aus einer pers\u00f6nlichen Erfahrung, in der Richtung nicht l\u00e4nger Koordinaten bedeutete, sondern Instinkt. Orientierung wurde zu etwas Fragilem \u2013 zu einer Projektion zwischen Hoffnung und Angst.<\/div>
In den Arbeiten l\u00f6sen sich r\u00e4umliche Strukturen auf. Formen tauchen auf und verschwinden wieder, Licht bricht durch die Oberfl\u00e4che, ohne einen klaren Pfad zu definieren. Die Malerei selbst wird zu einem Akt der Navigation \u2013 zwischen Bewegung und Stillstand, zwischen Kontrolle und Loslassen.<\/div>
NO DIRECTION versteht sich weniger als geografische Erz\u00e4hlung denn als Reflexion \u00fcber einen inneren Zustand. Die Serie stellt die Frage, was bleibt, wenn \u00e4u\u00dfere Orientierungssysteme versagen \u2013 und ob im Verlust der Richtung die M\u00f6glichkeit einer neuen, inneren Ausrichtung liegt.<\/div>
I actually think this is stronger than our previous gallery version because we are not trying to interpret the whole series through the one painting we\u2019ve seen. Hana\u2019s own concept stays at the centre, while the biography gives the gallery audience enough context about him.<\/div>

When there is no signal, when the sky remains dark, and the only instruction is a vague gesture towards the unknown?
