Dorothee Kuhbandner wurde 1964 als Dorothee Friedrich geboren, wuchs beh\u00fctet auf und ging ihren eigenen Weg. Seit ihrer Kindheit dr\u00fcckt sie sich durch Bilder aus und verarbeitet Erlebnisse, Gef\u00fchle und Gedanken in Farbe und Form.<\/p>

Der Inhalt ihrer Arbeiten erschlie\u00dft sich nicht immer auf den ersten Blick. \u201eWas willst du mit dem Bild sagen? Was stellt es dar?\u201c wird sie oft gefragt. Eine einfache Antwort f\u00e4llt schwer, denn Worte sind nicht ihr Medium \u2013 sie malt.<\/p>

\u201eDie Handschrift von Dorothee Kuhbandner wirkt oft magisch-expressiv, l\u00e4sst sich in kein Schubfach schieben. Bemerkenswert sind die leuchtende Farbigkeit und der ungez\u00e4hmte Strich, in dem die Figur Gestalt annimmt. Scherzhaft spricht sie von ihrem \u201aDorealismus\u2018.\u201c<\/p>

Dorothee Kuhbandner hatte und hat viele Etappen in ihrem Leben: Buchbinderin, Krankenschwester, Mutter von vier S\u00f6hnen, Galeristin, Managerin\u2026 Lebensk\u00fcnstlerin. Sie hat kein Kunststudium absolviert und lie\u00df sich nie in vorgegebene Bahnen lenken. Sie malt, wie es ihr gef\u00e4llt, und hat ihren eigenen Stil gefunden \u2013 und ist damit zufrieden.<\/p>

Dorothee Kuhbandner was born Dorothee Friedrich in 1964, grew up in a sheltered environment and went her own way. Since childhood, she has expressed herself through images and processed experiences, feelings and thoughts in colour and form. The content of her work is not always apparent at first glance. \u2018What are you trying to say with the picture? What does it represent?\u2019 she is often asked. It is difficult to give a simple answer, because words are not her medium \u2013 she paints. \u2018Dorothee Kuhbandner’s style often seems magically expressive and cannot be pigeonholed. The bright colours and untamed strokes in which the figures take shape are remarkable. She jokingly refers to her style as \u201cDorealism\u201d.\u2019 \u2014 Heinz Wei\u00dfflog (\u2020 2013) \u2018It is the detours that lead a person to their goal the fastest; stages are and remain existential.\u2019 \u2014 Thomas Gerlach, Radebeul Dorothee Kuhbandner has had and continues to have many stages in her life: bookbinder, nurse, mother of four sons, gallery owner, manager… bon vivant. She did not study art and never allowed herself to be steered down a predetermined path.
