Die Dresdner Malerin Katja Tomzig wusste schon als Kind, dass uns einiges mehr umgibt, als wir landl\u00e4ufig sehen k\u00f6nnen. \u201eAls vor 20 Jahren dann Harry Potter und der Halbblutprinz rauskam, habe ich nat\u00fcrlich das ganze Wochenende durchgelesen\u201c, erinnert sie sich. \u201eUnd als ich dann v\u00f6llig \u00fcbern\u00e4chtigt an einem von Farbflecken \u00fcbers\u00e4ten Blatt Papier in meinem Zimmer vorbei kam, entdeckte ich, dass sich darin die verschiedensten Wesen tummeln. Schnell habe ich meine Buntstifte genommen und sie am Wiederverschwinden gehindert, denn ich wusste ja nicht, wie lange dieses Fenster ge\u00f6ffnet bleiben w\u00fcrde.\u201c Die Sorge war unbegr\u00fcndet, denn seitdem ist dieses Portal offen geblieben und sie kann fast keine br\u00f6cklige Wand, Marmorplatte oder eben Flecke jeglicher Art l\u00e4nger betrachten, ohne dass sich deren Bewohner zeigen. Und nein, daf\u00fcr ist kein Drogenkonsum notwendig.<\/p>

Seit 2019 malt Katja Tomzig haupts\u00e4chlich in dieser Manier \u2013 bevorzugt mit Eitempera, Aquarellstiften und -farbe, Kaffee oder Tee auf Finnpappe und verschiedene Papiere. Den stetig wachsenden Reigen an fantastisch anmutenden Bildern mit gro\u00dfem erz\u00e4hlerischem Potential nennt die Malerin ihre FACETTEN DER SCH\u00d6PFUNG, die \u2013 mit Liebe aufgeladen \u2013 vornehmlich Freude in die Welt bringen sollen. Die neuesten Arbeiten daraus zeigt vom 7. September bis 6. Oktober 2025 die FULL MOON GALLERY \u2013 der Kunstraum des Jugend- & Kulturprojekt e.V. in der Hechtstra\u00dfe 17 \u2013 an sieben Tagen die Woche, 24 Stunden in den gro\u00dfen Schaufenstern.<\/p>

Katja Tomzig hat in Dresden und K\u00f6ln studiert, wo sie 11 Jahre gelebt hat, bevor sie 2021 nach Hause gekommen ist. Arbeiten aus ihrem Reigen FACETTEN DER SCH\u00d6PFUNG hat die Freischaffende K\u00fcnstlerin bisher in verschiedenen Gruppen- und Einzelausstellungen, auf Kunstmessen sowie in Dokumentationen in Europa und USA gezeigt. Der Jung-Designer Haz Sam hat Motive von ihr auf Stoff drucken und nachsticken lassen, um daraus eine atemberaubende Robe zu kreieren, die auf der Berlin Fashion Week 2023 f\u00fcr Begeisterung sorgte. In einem weiteren Projekt erdenkt sie neue Pflanzen, die helfen, gesellschaftlich Probleme zu l\u00f6sen.<\/p>

Exhibition by Katja Tomzig 7 September \u2013 6 October 2025Vernissage | 7 September 2025 | 8 p.m.Full Moon GalleryFree admission Dresden-based painter Katja Tomzig knew even as a child that there is much more to the world than meets the eye. \u2018When Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince came out 20 years ago, I naturally read it cover to cover over the weekend,\u2019 she recalls. \u2018And when I walked past a sheet of paper in my room, completely exhausted, covered in paint stains, I discovered that all kinds of creatures were romping around on it. I quickly grabbed my coloured pencils and prevented them from disappearing, because I didn’t know how long this window would remain open.\u2019 Her concern was unfounded, because since then this portal has remained open and she can hardly look at a crumbling wall, marble slab or even stains of any kind without their inhabitants appearing. And no, no drug use is necessary. Since 2019, Katja Tomzig has been painting mainly in this style \u2013 preferably with egg tempera, watercolour pencils and paint, coffee or tea on Finnboard and various types of paper. The painter calls her ever-growing collection of fantastical images with great narrative potential FACETTEN DER SCH\u00d6PFUNG (FACETS OF CREATION), which \u2013 charged with love \u2013 are primarily intended to bring joy to the world. The latest works from this series will be on display from 7 September to 6 October 2025 at the FULL MOON GALLERY \u2013 the art space of the Jugend- & Kulturprojekt e.V. at Hechtstra\u00dfe 17 \u2013 seven days a week, 24 hours a day in the large shop windows. www.katja-tomzig.de | www.full-moon-gallery.de Katja Tomzig studied in Dresden and Cologne, where she lived for 11 years before returning home in 2021. The freelance artist has exhibited works from her FACETTEN DER SCH\u00d6PFUNG (FACETS OF CREATION) series in various group and solo exhibitions, at art fairs and in documentaries in Europe and the USA. Young designer Haz Sam had her motifs printed on fabric and embroidered to create a breathtaking gown that caused a sensation at Berlin Fashion Week 2023.
